An Injured BoA announces her American Debut

(Source: Sanspo) Korean popstar BoA (21) attended a press conference at Imperial Palace Hotel in Seoul, Korea on the 10th of September, where she announced the debut release of her single, Eat You Up, in the US on 7th of November.

She had apparently fallen the night before and fractured her left wrist, and expressed her intent to fully rest her injury until her (American) debut.

Her single, Eat You Up, will also be available online, internationally, at iTunes stores from 7th October onwards.

  1. Hmm, I wonder if they'll actually market her appropriately so that some people will actually hear her music. I'm American so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out, since Americans generally are not really interested in "foreign" (namely non western)acts.

  4. I absolutely adore Boa. I wish her the best of luck with her American debut and I'll definitely be buying this album. Alot of famous producers and directors worked on her English album, so it's not like she doesn't have a chance to succeed. You can watch her teaser videos at boaamerica.com.

  5. I'll guess I'll put my 2 cents here. But here we go...
PLEASE SM DO NOT USE THE AMERICAN TEASER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know its directed by this big-name MV director but... it's hella boring. Americans needed to be WOWED and with that teaser BoA is going to be the next Utada and honestly, we DO NOT need another asian failure. Although I'm not one of her biggest fans I sincerely wish her great success. And if she wants to conquer the USA, the American MV will NOT do.
    Ok, done^^
(PS: oh, BoA on TRL please!)

  6. I love BoA! I hope she does well in America, and I'm addicted to her new song as well (:

Why do people say the American version is so boring? It's getting to the point where everyone is saying it, and it's just annoying. While the Korean version is more interesting visually, the American version isn't crap or anything. And the Korean version isn't amazing. They're both pretty typical music videos.
But I have to agree with you, I WANT BOA ON TRL! I've been thinking that since I first heard the news :D

  7. boa cant sing - definitely incomparable to whats out there in the US market now. and in no way is she as musically talented as utada, who failed to breakthrough, so that should say something. sure, she can dance, fairly well; but so can most street b-boy/girl out there... in essence, there is NOTHING special about her. apart from the fact that as a korean, she succeed somewhat in the japanese market. i seriously dont understand the korean trend in trying to invade the american market, obvioursly with the likes of bi and se7en, SM should know better. but clearly they just dont get it, and soon we'll be seeing boa playing up the sexy concept trying to sell and failing
