This year, Gary has enjoyed a string of blessings; on 7th May he was crowned Best Male Singer at Taiwan's Music Awards, on 28th of June he held his first paid concert at Kuala Lumpur, and now on 19th September he has registered his marriage - in half a year, he has settled his major life events.
Our reporter took photo evidence at the Registry of Marriage today (25th September). On it were their names, Gary Chaw Dak Haw (his original name being 曹佰豪) and Wu Sou Ling (吴速玲).
The manager has denied that Gary Chaw registered his marriage, but admitted he and his girlfriend indeed have returned to Malaysia in the past 1 or 2 weeks. "He returned to promote 2 new songs in his new album, and attend programs, and at the same time visit his mother, too." The manager also admitted to personally sending Gary off on the plane, and confirmed that Gary's mum also chose to fly back to Sabah that same day.
When asked about Gary's english name, he said, "There are very many identical names lah! Gary Chaw really didn't register his marriage." But he revealed that Gary and his girlfriend did indeed have plans for marriage.
The debate "Is Gary Gay?" has been a much talked about topic since Gary entered showbiz, and gossip has always surrounded him. Rumoured partners have included Vivian Hsu (徐若瑄), Genie Chuo (卓文萱) and Landy Wen (温岚), all beauties.
Gary will reveal, his girlfriend used to be his stylist. During one event, when his girlfriend was helping him fasten his tie, he suddenly asked, "Do you like me?" and before she could answer, immediately kissed her, not giving her an opportunity to say "NO!"
From then on, Gary refused to allow her to continue being a stylist for other people, to prevent others from using his same trick. He doesn't mind that his girlfriend has no job, and can definitely support her himself. But her personality is independent and cannot take this, so Gary could only require she not be a stylist anymore, but could not prevent her from working at all.
When just awarded his Best Male Singer Award in the Taiwan Music Awards, Gary Chaw was asked what he most wanted to do. He laughed and said, "Marry and have kids!" He added that when he proposes, he will definitely plan a romantic surprise on a bridge, and hopes that he "can hold a wedding every year!" - So that his girlfriend can have an unforgettable wedding every year.
